Eight steel panels clip together with metal buckles, so you can set this pen up as an octagon in the middle of a room, square it off into a corner, or stretch it into a rectangle along a wall. Unclipped, the same panels work as a straight barrier to close off a doorway or a stairway.

It is useful in exactly the moments when a puppy is hardest to watch: when guests arrive, when you are cooking, or when you need ten minutes to yourself. The door has two bolts so a determined nose cannot nudge it open.
