A charcoal grill with a rotisserie over the top, which is what you need for a whole chicken, a leg of lamb or a pork shoulder: slow turning over the coals rather than scorching on a flat grate. The spit height adjusts to three levels, so you can move the meat closer for colour or further away to cook it through gently.
The grill below works as a normal barbecue at the same time, taking vegetables, flatbreads and everything else while the roast turns above it. A removable windshield protects the flames on a breezy evening, and a folding shelf at each end holds platters and utensils.
